The majority of lanterns use cheap low CRI LEDs that emit a harsh, blue light that bathe the campsite in a cold, unwelcoming glow. íla's array of best-in-class high CRI LEDs radiate warm diffuse light that's reminiscent of candle light. When adventure calls, íla is ready to hit the trail. The lantern houses a large battery, ample for long weekend car camping trips. Additionally, it can be easily carried using its magnetic stowaway handle.
The handle is crafted from premium stainless steel with a sleek black anodized finish and it disappears seamlessly beneath the lantern when íla is set down.
Unparalleled Impact Resistance
In order to create a product that can withstand massive impacts we conducted a series of tests with the goal of staying illuminated through a 12 foot sheer drop. Each test took the same lantern through a 3 foot, a 6 foot, and a 12 foot sheer drop onto concrete or asphalt.
We iterated on our component materials over the course of a few months and landed (hah) on a resilient combination of LLDPE, carbon fiber reinforced Nylon, and ASA.
The result is a lantern that still works despite multiple high profile impacts.
Excellent Water Resistance
To make sure Ila could handle real-life conditions, we submerged it in water for over an hour and a half. No leaks. No glitches. No dimming. Just flawless performance the moment it came back up. Ila’s waterproof design means you can trust it through sudden downpours, dewy mornings, and the occasional dunk.

All the beauty and warmth in the world mean nothing if your lantern doesn't work when you need it most. We have engineered Ila to be the brightest and longest lasting lantern on the market, by a long shot.
The diffuser is made out of rotomolded LLDPE which makes it incredibly durable.
