I'm Marcus, the founder of Totum Technologies. On this page you'll find a photo of my cofounder Emmanuel and I.

Ila Lantern is our first foray into creating hardware. The idea for the project came up when we first met each other. I had just quit my job and had travelled to the Philippines to live the digital nomad life until I could get my startup off the ground.

I met Emmanuel at a church in Metro Manila. During a taxi ride together to Intramuros I learned that he was a computer engineer. I had an idea for a bluetooth low energy lantern made for moments with loved ones and we talked about the project briefly.

In a wonderful turn of events we found ourselves working on this project together about six months later. After many iterations it became our goal to make the best camping lantern on the market. In defining best we focused on three things: brightness, longevity, and durability.

Four years later we think we've gotten close. Our hope is that you purchase an Ila and that it serves you and your loved ones for a lifetime.
